Pause: Half Day Yoga & Meditation Retreat
Pause gave me the time and space to zoom out and reflect, and the stillness just to be with life for a day- something that is truly invaluable in this busy city. I can count on Pleasance to guide us through a retreat day with thoughtfulness, compassion, and expertise. She is always full of resources that guide me to lead a calmer, fuller life, and for that I am grateful.LML
Our popular retreat returns to the Center for Mindful Living on February 2nd 9:30am – 2:30 pm. Take some time to enjoy yoga, meditation, reflection, and quiet in a peaceful, welcoming space right here in DC!
There should always be time for a day of purposeful reflection, contemplation, and community. Whether you work full-time or a stay-at-home parent juggling everyone’s schedules, you can take a few hours and give yourself the break you need from your busy life in a simple, accessible way.
Registration is now open for our Winter Pause Retreat in February.
If you’ve never been on a yoga retreat, this is a great entry point (not too long, not too far away, not too rigid). All levels, ages, and stages are welcome. Our practice is safe and gentle enough for prenatal and postnatal students.
All participants will have a short break for lunch– bring your own or stop by a local restaurant or cafe (Whole Foods is 2 short blocks away). If you have any food/dietary restrictions or concerns, please e-mail me.
Location & Parking: IMCW (Insight Meditation Community of Washington) is located at 4708 Wisconsin Ave. NW, Washington DC. Please note, there is no elevator access to the 2nd floor. There is street & metered parking on Wisconsin, Chesapeake, and surrounding side streets. If you are not a Zone 2 permit holder, consider using public transportation to ease your concerns about feeding meters/time limits.

Pause was a wonderful way to unplug, for a few hours, from the pressures of everyday life. The meditation was very renewing and the energy of a small group of women was comforting. It was a unique opportunity to check-in with how our lives and reflect on the personal goals we value.KC
If we don’t actively make time for our own nurturing, introspection and dreams, the time will never magically come. I’m glad that I “PAUSEd” from my busy work week and had a timeout that not only will carry me through the coming days, but give me the tools to try to make that room and space on my own.PF
